glenn hollar opened his store in 1933. he called it glenn’s. glenn opened his store in washington dc on july 28th, 1933. he was the first person in his family to open a store. his parent’s were very proud.
glenn’s store was also the first of it’s kind. glenn’s store was the first of its kind because everything was free. it was 1933 and he didn’t sell televisions, but still, everything in that bitch was free. fruit was free. clothes were free. confederate flags were free. moonshine was free. books were free. everything was free in that bitch.
everyone was unsure how glenn made a profit. how could glenn possibly turn a profit when he gave everything away for free? how could he support his three wives and drive such a nice vehicle if he wasn’t making any money? well, the answer is simple:
people were so happy that glenn sold his stuff for free, that they would pay for it anyway. they’d pay for everything in that bitch.
they’d pay for the confederate flags, and the sex toys, and the turkeys because they wanted to. they wanted to support glenn and didn’t want his business to shut down.
in the beginning glenn was not for this. ‘i opened my shop to give back to the community’ said glenn ‘i want to give my community something because they’ve done so much for me’
when mrs. hershsmith paid $500 for a pack of wooden spoons, glenn quickly changed his mind
‘i’m cashing out’ said glenn ‘i’m gonna be the walt fucking disney of this tiny d.c. community’
and indeed he did. glenn made so much money that he stopped working and moved to los angeles. he closed down his free shop and blew all his money on drugs
today glenn hollar is back in washington dc. he continues to work in his free shop and tells stories to locals about how he was once a very rich man
the locals pretend to listen to his stories while they steal fresh produce
